Remembering Diana.....

Next week will be the 10th anniversary of Princess Diana's death. I vividly remember her tragic death, I spent the majority of the following week mesmerized with the television and devoured every little bit of news regarding this horrible accident. Princess Diana was a living legend to me. She represented a woman of courage, a mother of love and commitment, and a survivor. She was full of grace, honesty and humility. We will always remember her cute smile, big eyes and the love that she showered her sons. Princess Diana is truly the People's Princess. She is missed.

Off to Hawaiian paradise

Friday begins our vacation to sunny Honolulu. Shea, Justin, Jamin and I will fly off to vacation before college begins again. And, boy do we deserve it. Shea has packed 5 bikinis, Jamin and Justin hope to swim with the dolphins, and I'm just looking for a great Mai Tai. And, if it comes delivered by a pool boy I'll be happy.......

My Guys!

Are these guys gorgeous or what???? Of course they are my grandsons, MJ and Lil Bill. They were just here for my birthday last month and it was the greatest time. MJ is the most responsible and loving big brother and Bill is going to idiolize MJ. I love this picture....probably because I love these guys....

It's All about Shopping....

If you have ever raised a teenage daughter you will probably know that any simple trip to town, grocery store, or even just on a quick errand can turn into a major shopping trip. Shea has all the female genes on overload that have anything to do with shopping. On a Sunday afternoon drive to clear our heads and get the heck out of Dodge for awhile ended up to be a "shopping" trip for Shea. I heard the sounds of "kaching" as she began with "Do I get school clothes this year?" I guess there was some misconception that if you graduate from high school you may not get to go on that much loved shopping spree, that was established before time, that mandates all school aged kids are rewarded for their dedication to studies with a trip to "Rodeo Drive." In our case its Hollister and Abercrombie & Fitch. In other words, Shea is a happy shopper with new school clothes and my pocketbook is a little lighter, all within the context of a Sunday afternoon drive in the country.

Getting in the game....

Well, today started out the same as most Sundays...walk to buy a newspaper, make the coffee, read the paper and mow the yard....and its still morning. I talked with my kids in sunny Arizona and listened to the the talk of the newest member of our family, Lil Bill. It's music to my hears to hear him chatter. He's a champ and just a chip off the ole' block.

To my friends and family who know me best my "off" time has been spent organizing Operation Santa USMC for 2007. It's all about putting words into action, "Support our Troops." So, the next time your at the grocery store or department store, throw in a box of snack bars or white socks for the troops. I'm sure there is a support group in every city in every state. You probably won't have to go far to find one. And, if they are supporting US Marines, OORAH!
